Chapter 16 · Verse 9

हातुमिच्छति संसारं रागी दुःखजिहासया

hātumicchati saṃsāraṃ rāgī duḥkhajihāsayā | vītarāgo hi nirduḥkhastasminnapi na

The attached one wishes to abandon saṃsāra to escape duḥkha. But the detached one, already free from suffering, does not even desire that. The desire to escape suffering is still desire — the most subtle and respectable form of bondage, but bondage nonetheless.
