Chapter 18 · Verse 82
न शान्तं स्तौति निष्कामो न दुष्टमपि निन्दति
na śāntaṃ stauti niṣkāmo na duṣṭamapi nindati | samaduḥkhasukhastṛptaḥ kiñcit kṛ
In chapter 18 (Janaka’s liberation), verse 82 deepens the teaching of non-duality. In Advaita Vedānta philosophy, this verse of the Aṣṭāvakra Gītā reveals that freedom is inherent to the Self and requires no acquisition.
