You are licking, devouring all the worlds on all sides with Your flaming mouths, filling all this universe with Your terrible splendors, oh Viṣṇu.

Lelihyase — you are licking, lapping up — like fire consuming. Grasamānaḥ — devouring — the action of time. Samantāt — on all sides — omnipresent.

Vadanaiḥ jvaladbhiḥ — with flaming mouths — millions of suns. Tejobhiḥ — with splendors. Āpūrya — filling — saturating everything.

Bhāsaḥ ugrāḥ — terrible splendors — pratapanti — they burn — viṣṇo — oh Viṣṇu, who penetrates all.
