Vijñāna Yoga · Verse 23

अन्तवत्तु फलं तेषां तद्भवत्यल्पमेधसाम् | देवान्देवयजो यान्ति मद्भक्ता यान्ति मामपि

antavat tu phalaṃ teṣāṃ tad bhavaty alpamedhasām | devān deva-yajo yānti mad-bhaktā yānti mām api

But the fruit of those of small intelligence is limited. The god-sacrificers go to the gods; My devotees come to Me.

Antavat — having an end, temporary. The phala (fruits) of the alpa-medhasām (of little intelligence — unable to see that Kṛṣṇa is the source) are limited.

Contrast: deva-yajaḥ (sacrificers to demigods) yānti devān — go to the worlds of those demigods (reincarnation). Mad-bhaktāḥ (My devotees) yānti mām — come to Me (liberation, eternal union).
