Phala

Fruit, result. Every yogic practice yields its specific phala: samādhi is the phala of samyama, kaivalya the phala of discernment. The four puruṣārtha-s (dharma, artha, kāma, mokṣa) organize the legitimate fruits of human life. The Bhagavad-gītā teaches acting without attachment to phala.
