कविं पुराणमनुसाशितारमणोरणीयांसमनुस्मरेद्यः | सर्वस्य धातारमचिन्त्यरूपमादित्यवर्णं तमसः परस्तात्
kaviṃ purāṇam anuśāsitāram aṇor aṇīyāṃsam anusmared yaḥ | sarvasya dhātāram acintya-rūpam āditya-varṇaṃ tamasaḥ parastāt
Whoever meditates on the Poet, the Ancient, the Governor, subtler than the atom, the Sustainer of all, of inconceivable form, luminous as the sun, beyond darkness.
Description of the Divine: kavi (poet, seer), purāṇa (ancient, eternal), anuśāsitāram (governor/ruler), aṇoḥ aṇīyāṃsam (smaller than the atom), sarvasya dhātāram (sustainer of all).
Acintya-rūpam — inconceivable form (not accessible to ordinary mind). Āditya-varṇam — color/complexion of sun, luminous. Tamasaḥ parastāt — beyond tamas (darkness/ignorance).
