Easy is the life of the shameless, insolent as a crow, aggressive, arrogant, impure.

Sujīvaṃ ahirikena — easy is the life of the shameless: ahirika is without moral shame (hirī). Living without moral shame is “easy” because there is no internal brake. Everything is permitted when there is no moral sensitivity.

Kākasūrena dhaṃsinā — insolent as a crow, aggressive: kāka-sūra is bold as a crow — daring in a vulgar way, insolent. The crow is bold but without nobility. Dhaṃsī is the destroyer, the aggressive one.

Pakkhandinā pagabbhena saṃkiliṭṭhena jīvitaṃ — arrogant, presumptuous, impure: pakkhandī is one who lunges without reflection; pagabbha is presumptuous; saṃkiliṭṭha is impure, contaminated.

This verse, together with 245, forms a pair contrasting the easy life without virtue with the difficult life with virtue. The first is comfortable but produces disastrous results; the second is difficult but produces purification.
