Brāhmaṇavagga · The Brahmin · Gāthā 421

Yo ceva brāhmaṇoti vuccati, so ceva brāhmaṇo hoti; So ceva brāhmaṇoti vuccati, so eva brāhmaṇo hoti.

Yo ceva brāhmaṇoti vuccati, so ceva brāhmaṇo hoti; so ceva brāhmaṇoti vuccati, so eva brāhmaṇo hoti.

Who is called Brahman, is Brahman; who is called Brahman, is truly Brahman.

The final verses of the Dhammapada (420-423) are refrains. In recitation practice, the ending is repeated three times as solemn closure.

The text ends where it began: in the definition of the transformed being.
