Whoever eats ‘beef’ daily and drinks ‘heavenly liquor’, I consider him to be of noble lineage;the rest are destroyers of the lineage.

This verse uses sandhyā-bhāṣā — twilight or coded language — common in tantric texts.Words have hidden meanings that differ from the literal meaning.

Go-māṃsam — “beef” — esoterically means “the tongue” (go also means “tongue”).”Eating the tongue” refers to introducing it backwards in Khecarī mudrā.

Amara-vāruṇīm — “heavenly liquor” — is the nectar (amṛta) that descends from Sahasrāra.The yogī who practices Khecarī “drinks” this immortal nectar.

Kulīnam — of noble lineage.The true “noble lineage” is that of the yogīs who master these practices.Kula-ghātakāḥ — destroyers of lineage — are those who do not practice and waste their spiritual potential.
