This verse grounds the entire teaching on Kuṇḍalinī in the authority of the ṛṣis, the seers described as tattvadarśin — those who behold the essential truth directly. The implication is clear: the wandering of the individual through saṃsāra is not a metaphysical abstraction but a physiological fact rooted in the uncontrolled movement of vāyu through the subtle body.
The reference to eight knots (grantha) binding the nāḍīs is a significant technical detail. These knots are energetic obstructions — sometimes identified with specific cakra junctions — that prevent the free upward movement of prāṇa. The Śivasaṃhitā presents Kuṇḍalinī as the only force capable of dissolving these obstructions, distinguishing it from ordinary prāṇāyāma practice.
The Brahmarandhra, the «aperture of Brahma» at the crown, functions here as the terminal goal of the yogic path. Its piercing by Kuṇḍalinī is described across multiple Tantric texts — including the Haṭhapradīpikā and the Ṣaṭcakranirūpaṇa — as the definitive moment of liberation.
