Prāṇa Dhāraṇā · Dhāraṇā 6

अन्तः प्राणस्य विश्रान्तिपदे वा बाह्यवृत्तितः । भैरव्या भैरवस्येत्थं भैरवि व्यज्यते वपुः ॥

antaḥ prāṇasya viśrāntipade vā bāhyavṛttitaḥ | bhairavyā bhairavasya etthaṃ bhairavi vyajyate vapuḥ ||

In the resting place of the inner prāṇa, or from external activity — thus the form of Bhairava is revealed through Bhairavī.

Sixth and final breath dhāraṇā. Viśrāntipade — the resting place of prāṇa. That internal point where breath, having entered, abides before exiting. Or, Bhairava offers an alternative, from external activity (bāhyavṛttitaḥ) — while you are busy with the world.

The first option is contemplative. The second is radical: even in the midst of activity, you can access the resting place of prāṇa. You need not sit down to meditate. Prāṇa rests between each breath even while you walk, speak, work.

Bhairavyā bhairavasya — through Bhairavī (the energy, śakti) Bhairava (the consciousness) is revealed. This formula repeats throughout the text like a structural mantra. Energy is the means. Consciousness is what is revealed. Breath is the bridge between both.
