Laukika Dhāraṇā · Dhāraṇā 81

प्रणवादिसमुच्चारात्प्लुतान्ते शून्यभावनात् । शून्यया परया शक्त्या शून्यतामेति भैरवि ॥

praṇavādisamuccārāt plutānte śūnyabhāvanāt | śūnyayā parayā śaktyā śūnyatām eti bhairavi ||

By the pronunciation of praṇava and others, at the end of the pluta, by contemplation of void, through the supreme śakti of void, voiditude is attained, oh Bhairavī.

Eighty-first dhāraṇā. The praṇava — Oṃ — pronounced in its complete form. Plutānte — at the end of the pluta, the maximum prolongation of sound. A-U-M prolonged until breath is exhausted. And after: silence.

Śūnyabhāvanāt — through the contemplation of the void that follows. The Oṃ creates a space. When sound dies, the space remains. Do not fill it with another Oṃ immediately. Inhabit the following silence. It is more important than the sound.

Śūnyayā parayā śaktyā śūnyatām eti — through the supreme śakti of void, voiditude is attained. The śakti of void — the energy of silence. It is not passive. It is the most intense potency of all. From the void, all is born. Bhairavi — Bhairava addresses Devī reminding her that she herself is that śakti of the void.
