Kṣetra-Kṣetrajña Yoga · Verse 31
यदा भूतपृथग्भावमेकस्थमनुपश्यति | तत एव च विस्तारं ब्रह्म सम्पद्यते तदा
yadā bhūta-pṛthag-bhāvam ekastham anupaśyati | tata eva ca vistāraṃ brahma sampadyate tadā
When one sees that the diversity of beings is situated in the One, and from Him all expands, then one attains Brahman.
Two aspects of the same vision: ekastham — situated in One — the unity underlying multiplicity; and vistāra — expansion — the One manifesting as many.
The bhūta-pṛthag-bhāva — diversity of beings — is not denied but understood as appearance. The waves are many; the ocean is one.
Brahma sampadyate — one becomes Brahman — this is not acquisition but recognition. One realizes one’s nature as the Absolute, always already attained but previously unrecognized.
