Śraddhā-Trayā-Vibhāga Yoga · Verse 7
आहारस्त्वपि सर्वस्य त्रिविधो भवति प्रियः | यज्ञस्तपस्तथा दानं तेषां भेदमिमं शृणु
āhāras tv api sarvasya tri-vidho bhavati priyaḥ | yajñas tapas tathā dānaṃ teṣāṃ bhedam imaṃ śṛṇu
Food also, of everyone, is triple and appreciated. The sacrifice, austerity and charity — hear of them this distinction.
Extension of the tripartite analysis. Not only śraddhā is triple; āhāra (food) is also tri-vidhaḥ — triple, according to guṇas. Everyone (sarvasya) has priya — appreciated, agreeable — food according to their nature.
Then yajña (sacrifice), tapas (austerity), dāna (charity) are added. The complete list: faith, food, sacrifice, austerity, charity — all evaluable according to sattva, rajas, tamas.
