यज्ञ
Yajña
conceptoSacrifice, ritual offering, sacred exchange. From the root yaj (to worship, to sacrifice). In the Bhagavad-gītā, every action dedicated to the Absolute becomes yajña. Krishna describes the body itself as a field of sacrifice where the senses offer their objects into the inner fire. The Śiva Saṃhitā applies the concept to the digestive fire and the offering of the breath. Yajña transforms ordinary action into sacred practice by severing attachment to its fruits. See karma-yoga, agni.
