Śvetāśvatara Upaniṣad · 5..13
तस्मादृचः साम यजूंषि दीक्षा यज्ञः क्रतुः पशवः सर्वभूतानि प्राणापानौ व्रीहियवौ तपः सत्यं व्रतं विधानं वेदास्तस्माद्यज्ञस्तस्मादृचः साम यजूंषि दीक्षा यज्ञः क्रतुः पशवः सर्वभूतानि प्राणापानौ व्रीहियवौ तपः सत्यं व्रतं विधानं वेदास्तस्माद्यज्ञस्तस्मादृचः
tasmādṛcaḥ sāma yajūṃṣi dīkṣā yajñaḥ kratauḥ paśavaḥ sarvabhūtāni prāṇāpānau vrīhiyavau tapaḥ satyaṃ vrataṃ vidhānaṃ vedāstasmādyajñastasmādṛcaḥ sāma yajūṃṣi dīkṣā yajñaḥ kratauḥ paśavaḥ sarvabhūtāni prāṇāpānau vrīhiyavau tapaḥ satyaṃ vrataṃ vidhānaṃ vedāstasmādyajñastasmādṛcaḥ
From him the Ṛg, Sāma, Yajur, initiation, sacrifice, ritual, animals, all beings, inhalation and exhalation, rice and barley, austerity, truth, vow, regulation, Vedas, sacrifice —from him, from him.
Ninth repetition, carrying the liturgy almost to the point of saturation. In our yoga practice, this is the test of patience and persistence. The mind that can contemplate this repetition without boredom, without seeking novelty, is mature for knowledge. The vrīhi and yava (rice and barley) included in the list —basic foods— remind us that even the most ordinary is emanation of the extraordinary. Everything is tasmāt —from Him, from Him.
