From him the Ṛg, Sāma, Yajur, initiation, sacrifice, ritual, animals, all beings, inhalation and exhalation, rice and barley, austerity, truth, vow, regulation, Vedas, sacrifice —from him, from him.
Sixth repetition, continuing the liturgy toward its climax. In our yoga practice, this sextuple repetition may correspond to the six darśanas or the six cakras. Each repetition is an ascent, a purification, a revelation. The paśavaḥ (animals) included in the list remind us that all life, not only human, is emanation of Reality. There is no hierarchy of value in the source; hierarchy is appearance, not essence.
