Cittaṁ dametha medhāvī, bhavagge anhamānamhi; Dhammaṁ jānañ ca visuṭṭhānaṃ, paññāpaguṇaṃ vahati.
Cittaṁ dametha medhāvī, bhavagge anhamānamhi; dhammaṁ jānañ ca visuṭṭhānaṃ, paññāpaguṇaṃ vahati.
Tame the mind, oh wise ones, at the peak of becoming; knowing the Dhamma, completely purified, bear wisdom as your burden.
The Bhikkhuvagga — chapter of the monk — begins with taming the mind. Cittaṃ damethā — tame the mind. Not repression, but training.
Bhavagge — at the peak of becoming. The peak is not a physical place, it is the highest point of experience: where becoming touches its limit.
