Saptamopadeśaḥ (Samādhi) · Verse 23

षट्कर्मयोगमासनं मुद्रा प्राणायमस्तथा | ध्यानं समाधिरित्येतद्धठयोगपदं भवेत् ||

ṣaṭkarmayogam āsanaṃ mudrā prāṇāyamas tathā | dhyānaṃ samādhir ity etad haṭhayogapadaṃ bhavet ||

Final synthesis of the complete system. The six components of haṭha yoga according to Gheraṇḍa:

  1. Ṣaṭkarma — purification
  2. Āsana — postures
  3. Mudrā — seals
  4. Prāṇāyāma — breath control
  5. Dhyāna — meditation
  6. Samādhi — absorption

These are the “steps” (padāni) of the path. Each prepares the next, and together they constitute complete haṭha yoga.
