Pañcamaḥ paṭalaḥ (Dhyāna) · Verse 173
ब्रह्मरन्ध्र मनो दत्त्वा क्षणार्धं यदि तिष्ठति ।
brahmarandhra mano dattvā kṣaṇārdhaṃ yadi tiṣṭhati |
What is bondage, what is emancipation? To him ever all is one; undoubtedly, he who practices this always, is the really emancipated.
The rhetorical question about what is bondage or liberation reveals the non-dualistic perspective of the text. For the realized yogi, these conceptual categories lose their meaning because he has transcended all duality. The final assertion that ‘everything is one’ for him reflects the direct experience of the fundamental unity of all existence, beyond phenomenal appearances.
