पिण्डमन्त्रस्य सर्वस्य स्थूलसूक्ष्मपरस्थितेः । चिन्तयेत्परमेशानि क्रमाद्बाह्यार्थतां गतम् ॥

piṇḍamantrasya sarvasya sthūlasūkṣmaparasthiteḥ | cintayet parameśāni kramād bāhyārthatāṃ gatam ||

Oh Supreme Lady, contemplate how the compact mantra in all its states — gross, subtle, and supreme — gradually manifests as external reality.

Hundred-sixth technique. The mantra as seed of the universe. Piṇḍamantrasya — of the compact mantra, concentrated, seed. The whole universe is contained in a seed-mantra as an oak is contained in an acorn.

Sthūlasūkṣmaparasthiteḥ — in its gross, subtle, and supreme states. The mantra has three levels. The audible sound (sthūla). The mental vibration (sūkṣma). The pure consciousness that is its essence (para). The three are one.

Kramād bāhyārthatāṃ gatam — gradually manifesting as external reality. Contemplate how pure consciousness condenses into vibration, vibration into sound, sound into form, form into universe. It is the process of creation in reverse. Seeing it clearly is understanding that the universe is not solid. It is condensed consciousness. And you are that consciousness before it condenses.
