Dhyāna Dhāraṇā · Dhāraṇā 107
चित्तादिभूमिकाः सर्वाः क्रमेण चिन्तयेत्ततः । परापराभेदरहितं चिद्रूपं भावयेत्ततः ॥
cittādibhūmikāḥ sarvāḥ krameṇa cintayet tataḥ | parāparābhedarahitaṃ cidrūpaṃ bhāvayet tataḥ ||
Contemplate gradually all levels from the mind. Then contemplate the form of pure consciousness, free from distinction between supreme and non-supreme.
Hundred-seventh dhāraṇā. Beyond all categories. Cittādibhūmikāḥ sarvāḥ — all levels beginning from the mind. Traverse the states: active mind, quiet mind, subtle mind, causal mind, beyond mind. Each level is a step.
Krameṇa cintayet — contemplate gradually. Do not jump. Traverse each level with attention. Experience it. Then pass to the next. The ladder is climbed step by step.
Parāparābhedarahitam cidrūpam bhāvayet — contemplate the form of pure consciousness, free from distinction between supreme and non-supreme. At the end of the ladder, throw away the ladder. Para and apara — the superior and the inferior — are also mental categories. Pure consciousness (cidrūpa) is neither high nor low, neither superior nor inferior. It simply is. Without possible comparison. Without hierarchy. Pure luminous presence.
