Chapter 2 · Verse 7

अहं निरंजनो नित्यं दृग्रूपोऽस्मि निराकृतिः

ahaṃ nirañjano nityaṃ dṛg-rūpo'smi nirākṛtiḥ

Three more affirmations of the Self: stainless (nirañjana), eternal (nitya), of the nature of the seer (dṛg-rūpa), formless (nirākṛti). The term dṛg-rūpa is philosophically precise — the Self is not something that has awareness, it is awareness itself, the sheer fact of seeing. As the Supreme Knower (parama-jña), eternally free, Janaka transcends the very framework of saṃsāra and mokṣa. Neither applies to the formless seer.
