Chapter 8 · Verse 7

न ते संसारमोक्षौ न मे देहो न मे मनः

na te saṃsāra-mokṣau na me deho na me manaḥ

There is no saṃsāra or mokṣa, no body or mind, for you. All these are only a play of the mind. You are supreme Consciousness, ever free, ever one. In chapter 8 this applies to praise and blame. If there is no saṃsāra and no mokṣa, who can be praised or condemned? The opinions of others — favorable or unfavorable — apply only to a ghost: the “I” that never existed. Supreme Consciousness is beyond the reach of every word.
