Dvitīyopadeśaḥ (Āsana) · Verse 31

गोरक्षासनमाख्यातं देहदोषविनाशनम् | तत्प्रकारं प्रवक्ष्यामि शृणु त्वं कमलानने ||

gorakṣāsanam ākhyātaṃ dehadoṣavināśanam | tatprakāraṃ pravakṣyāmi śṛṇu tvaṃ kamalānane ||

Gorakṣāsana — the posture of Gorakṣanāth. Gorakṣa is the legendary master, disciple of Matsyendra, founder of the Nātha lineage. This posture carries his name directly; to practice it is to honor the source.

“Destroyer of the impurities of the body.” The posture purifies at physical and energetic levels. It is especially valued for those connected to the Nātha tradition.

The invocation “O lotus-faced one” prepares the disciple to receive important technical knowledge. This is no casual posture; it is transmission of lineage.
