Dvitīyopadeśaḥ (Āsana) · Verse 66
हस्ताभ्यां धारयित्वा तु पादयोरग्रतः स्थितौ | नासाग्रे च धृतेक्षणः क्षुद्ररोगविनाशनम् ||
hastābhyāṃ dhārayitvā tu pādayor agrataḥ sthitau | nāsāgre ca dhṛtekṣaṇaḥ kṣudrarogavināśanam ||
This description appears to correspond to Paścimottānāsana rather than Yogāsana. In textual transmission, some verses may have shifted from their original place.
Complete Yogāsana typically implies a seated position with crossed legs, erect back, and hands in specific mudrā. It is the posture for deep meditation.
The benefits of “destroyer of minor diseases” apply to any stable meditation posture practiced regularly. Sustained stillness cures many modern ailments related to stress.
