But whoever is endowed with discrimination, with balanced mind, ever pure — he reaches that goal from which he is not born again.

The result of practice: definite liberation.

Samanaskaḥ — with balanced mind, united. The stable mind, not scattered, concentrated.

Sadā śuciḥ — ever pure. Purity as a result of discrimination and control.

Tat padam āpnoti — reaches that goal. The purpose of the journey, the realization of the Self.

Yasmāt bhūyo na jāyate — from which one is not born again. Definite liberation, end of saṃsāra.

The contrast with the previous verse is total: the discriminating reaches the goal, the undiscriminating keeps spinning. The goal is Brahman, and reaching it is to know that one was never separate from it.

Complete yoga culminates here: no more chariot, no more journey, only the Self in its luminous immobility.
