Akṣara-Parabrahman Yoga · Verse 11

यदक्षरं वेदविदो वदन्ति विशन्ति यद्यतयो वीतरागाः | यदिच्छन्तो ब्रह्मचर्यं चरन्ति तत्ते पदं संग्रहेण प्रवक्ष्ये

yad akṣaraṃ veda-vido vadanti viśanti yad yatayo vīta-rāgāḥ | yad icchanto brahmacaryaṃ caranti tat te padaṃ saṅgraheṇa pravakṣye

That which the knowers of the Veda call the indestructible, that which the ascetics free from passion enter, desiring which they practice brahmacarya — that goal I shall briefly explain to you.

Yat akṣaram — that immutable, Brahman. Veda-vidaḥ — those who know the Vedas, they call it thus. Yatayo vīta-rāgāḥ — the yati (renunciates) who have overcome rāga (attachment) viśanti (enter into).

Icchantaḥ — desiring that, they practice brahmacarya (walking in Brahman, student celibacy). Saṅgraheṇa pravakṣye — I shall explain in summary. The chapter will present the paths to different destinations.
