Saptamopadeśaḥ (Samādhi) · Verse 4

ध्यानयोगः प्रवक्ष्यामि योगिनां सुखसाधकम् | देवतामूर्तिमाभातां ध्यायेद्ब्रह्मपरायणः ||

dhyānayogaḥ pravakṣyāmi yogināṃ sukhasādhanam | devatāmūrtim ābhātāṃ dhyāyed brahmaparāyaṇaḥ ||

The first samādhi: Dhyāna yoga. It is the continuation of Sthūla dhyāna but taken to complete absorption.

The visualized deity is no longer an external object; the practitioner merges with it. The separation between meditator and meditated disappears.

“Surrendered to Brahman” — the goal is not the deity as a separate entity but the divine in its totality. Form is a door, not the final destination.
