Śvetāśvatara Upaniṣad · 6..7
य इमं मनुष्येषु विदित्वा मनुष्येषु वसन् य इमं मनुष्येषु विदित्वा मनुष्येषु वसन्
ya imaṃ manuṣyeṣu viditvā manuṣyeṣu vasan ya imaṃ manuṣyeṣu viditvā manuṣyeṣu vasan
Who, knowing this among humans, dwells among humans. Who, knowing this among humans, dwells among humans.
Second repetition, intensifying the teaching. In our yoga practice, this reminds us that transcendental knowledge is not incompatible with daily life. The sage may be in the midst of the marketplace, among the crowd, and yet dwell in the peace of the heart. “Knowing this” is not information but transformation: seeing Reality in every face, in every interaction. The double affirmation is a promise: this knowledge does not exile us from humanity but allows us to love it from understanding of its essential unity.
