य एतद्विदुरमृतास्ते भवन्ति य एतद्विदुरमृतास्ते भवन्ति

ya etadviduramṛtāste bhavanti ya etadviduramṛtāste bhavanti

Those who know this, they become immortal. Those who know this, they become immortal.

Emphatic repetition: ya etad viduḥ amṛtāḥ te bhavanti. Knowledge of this antaryāmin —near to the heart, great, established in the vitalities— is the gate to immortality. In our yoga practice, this is not a promise of eternal bodily life but recognition that we were never born nor will we die. Amṛta (immortality) is our nature, not a future state. To know this is to remember what has always been the case. The double affirmation is a guarantee: whoever knows, is.
