From him are born in multitude the gods, the Sādhyas, the humans, the animals, the birds; prāṇa and apāna, rice and barley, austerity, faith, truth, student celibacy, and ordinance.

From the absolute come all beings and all spiritual practices.

Devāḥ… sādhyāḥ — gods and semi-divine beings. The cosmic intelligences that govern natural processes.

Manuṣyāḥ paśavo vayāṃsi — humans, animals, birds. The realms of existence on this plane.

Prāṇāpānau — the vital and excretory energies. The currents of energy that circulate in the body.

Vrīhi-yavau — rice and barley. The basic foods, physical sustenance.

Tapaḥ śraddhā satyaṃ brahmacaryaṃ vidhiḥ — austerity, faith, truth, celibacy, ordinance. The spiritual practices themselves.

The profound revelation: the means of realization are not human inventions but expressions of the same reality they seek to reveal.

Yoga does not add something external but reveals what we always are.
