Prathama-prakaraṇam (Yama) · Verse 49

धारणा पञ्चधा प्रोक्ता ध्यानं षोढा प्रकीर्तितम् । त्रयं तेषूत्तमं प्रोक्तं समाधिस्त्वेकरूपकः ॥

dhāraṇā pañcadhā proktā dhyānaṃ ṣoḍhā prakīrtitam | trayaṃ teṣūttamaṃ proktaṃ samādhistvekarūpakaḥ ||

Further quantification: five types of dhāraṇā, six of dhyāna (with three uttama), and samādhi as ekarūpaka — of a single form. The singularity of samādhi contrasts with the multiplicity of lower limbs, suggesting that while the path branches into many practices, the destination is one: undifferentiated absorption. This echoes the Upaniṣadic insight that truth is one though the wise call it by many names.
