Bhakti Yoga · Verse 11
अथैतदप्यशक्तोऽसि कर्तुं मद्योगमाश्रितः | सर्वकर्मफलत्यागं ततः कुरु यतात्मवान्
athaitad apy aśakto 'si kartuṁ mad-yogam āśritaḥ | sarva-karma-phala-tyāgaṁ tataḥ kuru yatātmavān
If even this you are unable to do, being devoted to My yoga, then renounce the fruits of all actions, being self-controlled.
Kṛṣṇa offers the most accessible path for those who cannot meditate or dedicate actions: renunciation of fruits. Act normally, but surrender attachment to results.
This karma-phala-tyāga — renouncing action-fruits — is the minimum requirement. It demands yatātmavān — self-mastery — to overcome the ego’s claim on outcomes.
Even this “lowest” rung leads to liberation. The Bhagavad Gītā’s genius lies in this graduated approach (krama-mukti), ensuring no sincere seeker is excluded by temperament or circumstance.
