Vijñāna Yoga · Verse 19

बहूनां जन्मनामन्ते ज्ञानवान्मां प्रपद्यते | वासुदेवः सर्वमिति स महात्मा सुदुर्लभः

bahūnāṃ janmanām ante jñānavān māṃ prapadyate | vāsudevaḥ sarvam iti sa mahātmā sudurlabhaḥ

After many births, the man of wisdom surrenders to Me, knowing that Vāsudeva is everything. Such a great soul is very difficult to find.

Bahūnāṃ janmanām ante — at the end of many births. Mature knowledge requires accumulated saṃskāra. Finally, the jñānavān (endowed with vijñāna, integrated knowledge) prapadyate.

Vāsudevaḥ sarvam — “Vāsudeva [Kṛṣṇa] is everything.” It is the vision of sarvātma-bhāva — seeing God in everything and everything in God. The mahātmā (great soul) is sudurlabhaḥ — very difficult to obtain.
