From him proceeds the fire whose fuel is the sun; from the moon, the rain; from the rain, the plants on earth; the male pours seed into the woman — thus the multiple creatures arise from the Purusha.

The cyclical chain of existence: the continuous flow of cosmic energy.

Tasmāt agniḥ — from him, fire. The transformative energy that comes from the Person.

Samidho yasya sūryaḥ — whose fuel is the sun. The sun feeds the cosmic fire.

Somāt parjanyaḥ — from the moon, rain. The moon regulates waters, the water cycles.

Oṣadhayaḥ — plants, medicines. Vegetable life that feeds the whole chain.

Pumān… yoṣitāyām — the male in the female. Reproduction as continuation of the cycle.

Bahvīḥ prajāḥ — multiple creatures. The unlimited diversity of life.

Puruṣāt saṃprasūtāḥ — born from the Purusha. Everything has the same ultimate source.

The yogī sees in every natural process the hand of the single Being, the dance of a single energy.
