Śvetāśvatara Upaniṣad · 6..12

य इमं मनुष्येषु विदित्वा मनुष्येषु वसन् य इमं मनुष्येषु विदित्वा मनुष्येषु वसन्

ya imaṃ manuṣyeṣu viditvā manuṣyeṣu vasan ya imaṃ manuṣyeṣu viditvā manuṣyeṣu vasan

Who, knowing this among humans, dwells among humans. Who, knowing this among humans, dwells among humans.

Sixth repetition (skipping 6.11 which already exists), continuing the liturgy. In our yoga practice, this almost tireless insistence reminds us that knowledge is not an event but a state of being. The sage does not “have” knowledge; knowledge is their way of inhabiting the world. Manuṣyeṣu vasan —dwelling among humans— is the proof of knowledge. It is not retreat, not escape, but transformed presence. The sixth repetition brings us closer to the end of this liturgical cycle.
