Śvetāśvatara Upaniṣad · 6..20
य इमं मनुष्येषु विदित्वा मनुष्येषु वसन् य इमं मनुष्येषु विदित्वा मनुष्येषु वसन्
ya imaṃ manuṣyeṣu viditvā manuṣyeṣu vasan ya imaṃ manuṣyeṣu viditvā manuṣyeṣu vasan
Who, knowing this among humans, dwells among humans. Who, knowing this among humans, dwells among humans.
Fourteenth repetition, continuing the liturgy toward its final climax. In our yoga practice, this insistence reminds us that transcendent knowledge is not incompatible with daily life. The sage can be in the midst of the marketplace, among the multitude, and yet dwell in the peace of the heart. “Knowing this” is not information but transformation: seeing Reality in every face, in every interaction. The fourteenth repetition is the penultimate of this extensive series.
