Dhyāna Dhāraṇā · Dhāraṇā 17
यथा तत्त्वेन जायन्ते जातानि वस्तुतो यथा । यथा तेन विना यच्च तत् तथा परमेश्वरि ॥
yathā tattvena jāyante jātāni vastuto yathā | yathā tena vinā yac ca tat tathā parameśvari ||
How things arise truly, how they exist in reality, how they exist without that — that is so, oh Parameśvarī.
Seventeenth dhāraṇā. Contemplate the true nature (tattva) of arising. How do things really come into being? The world appears to be a collection of separate objects arising from causes and conditions. But Bhairava invites investigation: yathā tattvena jāyante — how do they truly arise?
And jātāni vastuto yathā — how do they actually exist once arisen? And crucially: yathā tena vinā — how would they be without these causes? This is not philosophical speculation. It is direct inquiry into the nature of manifestation.
When examined closely, things are not as solid as they appear. They arise dependently, exist interdependently, and dissolve back into potential. Tat tathā — that is how it is. The recognition of contingency undermines the illusion of independent existence, revealing the empty, luminous nature of all phenomena.
