Prathama-prakaraṇam (Yama) · Verse 19
ज्ञानं च परमं गुह्यं यथावद्ब्रूहि मे प्रभो । मयैवमुक्तो द्रुहिणः स्वयम्भूर्लोकनायकः ॥
jñānaṃ ca paramaṃ guhyaṃ yathāvadvṛūhi me prabho | mayaivamukto druhiṇaḥ svayambhūrlokanāyakaḥ ||
Yājñavalkya also asked for jñānaṃ paramaṃ guhyaṃ — the supreme, secret knowledge — requesting that it be taught yathāvat — as it truly is. The term guhya (secret) does not imply esotericism for its own sake; it means this knowledge cannot be gained without a qualified teacher. Brahmā is called svayambhū — self-existent, uncreated — and lokanāyaka — guide of the world, establishing him as the ultimate source of both karma and jñāna.
