Chapter 11 · Verse 2

यत्र यत्र समाधानं तत्र तत्र समाधयः

yatra yatra samādhānaṃ tatra tatra samādhayaḥ

Wherever there is contentment, there is samādhi; wherever there is desire, there is suffering. Be aware of this and be ever free. Chapter 11 establishes the direct correlation: contentment and samādhi are two names for the same inner stillness. Desire is not evil in itself; it is simply the seed of suffering. Freedom does not demand the elimination of desire but the clear seeing of its nature.
