Janaka returns to the proclamation “I am Brahman” after examining the logical objections raised in chapter 18. Reason can argue for or against advaita, but this truth does not rest on reasoning. It is the assertion of the sākṣī, the witness who observes every argument without participating in any. Logic moves; Brahman remains. The verse shifts the basis of certainty from discursive proof to the immediacy of self-aware being.
