Chapter 8 · Verse 3
आत्मा निर्विकल्पः शुद्धः सच्चिदानन्दलक्षणः
ātmā nirvikalpaḥ śuddhaḥ sat-cid-ānanda-lakṣaṇaḥ
The Ātman is without constructs, pure, and of the nature of existence-consciousness-bliss. For the one who knows this, fear and desire have no foothold. Chapter 8 applies this to honor and dishonor: the sage who rests as sat-cit-ānanda cannot be flattered or wounded, because there is no separate self to be touched by either.
