अहं वैश्वानरो भूत्वा प्राणिनां देहमाश्रितः | प्राणापानसमायुक्तः पचाम्यन्नं चतुर्विधम्
ahaṃ vaiśvānaro bhūtvā prāṇināṃ deham āśritaḥ | prāṇāpāna-samāyuktaḥ pacāmy annaṃ catur-vidham
Having become Vaiśvānara, established in the body of living beings, united with prāṇa and apāna, I digest the four types of food.
Kṛṣṇa as the cosmic digestive fire. Vaiśvānara — the universal fire, the digestive principle in all beings. He is āśritaḥ (established, takes refuge) in each deha (body).
He is samāyukta (united, yoked) with prāṇa (ascending breath) and apāna (descending breath) — the two principal vāyu of the subtle body. Pacāmi — I cook, I digest. The anna (food) is catur-vidha — of four types: chewed, drunk, licked, sucked. Without this inner fire, no nutrition would be possible.
