Pañcamopadeśaḥ (Prāṇāyāma) · Verse 25
एवं प्राणायमाख्याता दशधा योगिनां गतिः | प्राणायामरतो योगी जीवन्मुक्तो भवेन्नरः ||
evaṃ prāṇāyamākhyātā daśadhā yogināṃ gatiḥ | prāṇāyāmarato yogī jīvanmuktop bhaved naraḥ ||
Summary of the chapter on prāṇāyāma: ten types described, all leading to liberation.
“Dedicated to prāṇāyāma” (prāṇāyāma-rataḥ) — not occasional but committed. Prāṇāyāma is the axis of practice.
“Liberated in life” (jīvan-mukta) is the result of mastering the breath and, through it, the mind. It is the state of freedom while the body still lives.
