Śūnya Dhāraṇā · Dhāraṇā 37

घटादेर्भाजनस्यान्तर्भिन्नं व्योमाम्बरान्तरम् । तत्त्वतोऽर्थावभासस्य सर्वभेदविवर्जिता ॥

ghaṭāder bhājanasyāntar bhinnaṃ vyomāmbarāntaram | tattvato 'rthāvabhāsasya sarvabhedavivarjitā ||

The space inside a vessel and outer space are not really separated. In truth, the manifestation of objects is devoid of all differentiation.

Thirty-seventh technique. Direct extension of verse 33. Ghaṭādeḥ bhājanasya antaḥ — inside the vessel. Bhinnam — separated. Vyomāmbarāntaram — from outer space. The vessel creates the illusion of two spaces. Break the vessel: there is only one.

Tattvataḥ — in reality, in truth. Arthāvabhāsasya sarvabhedavivarjitā — the manifestation of objects is devoid of all ultimate differentiation. Differences are perceived. But they have no ultimate substance. They are like waves in the ocean: real as waves, illusory as separate entities.

This dhāraṇā is practiced by looking at any enclosed space and recognizing that its walls do not divide space but simply delimit it visually. Space is one. Consciousness is one. Forms are temporary decoration of eternal void.
