Janaka identifies himself with Brahman itself: without qualities (nirguṇa), without support (nirādhāra), ever pure (nitya-śuci). He is self-born, without parents, without birth or death. In chapter 2 this declaration completes the dismantling of all conventional identity: family lineage, physical origin, and temporal fate no longer apply. The Self is the Supreme Consciousness (parā caitanya) and fullness itself, dependent on nothing outside itself.
