The sage neither delights (nābhinandati) nor hates (na dveṣṭi) — the paired movements of rāga and dveṣa that drive all worldly experience have ceased. His wisdom (prajñā) is established (pratiṣṭhitā), meaning it is not intermittent or dependent on circumstances. Aṣṭāvakra adds a conditional: when such a one can free himself, then there is no bondage anywhere for him. The “when” is not temporal but epistemic — the moment the insight stabilizes, bondage vanishes completely.
