Here Janaka identifies himself with the Self described as space-like, without a second, formless (nirākāra), and immaculate (nirmala). In such a nature there is nothing to be known, renounced, accepted, or rejected, because nothing has ever been added to or taken from it. The verse is not a poetic image but a statement of identity: awareness is untouched by the categories that make spiritual practice seem necessary.
