Chapter 9 · Verse 4
आत्मैवेदं जगत् सर्वं ज्ञातं यस्य महात्मनः
ātmaivedaṃ jagat sarvaṃ jñātaṃ yasya mahātmanaḥ
The entire universe is the Ātman for the great being who knows it. Chapter 9 addresses attraction and aversion, and the recurrence of this verse here shows that non-dual vision is not a static insight but a lens applied to every aspect of experience. Attraction and aversion presuppose a division between the one who likes and the object liked; where all is Ātman, both movements lose their anchor.
